German airline giant Lufthansa, which has been in a really bad situation, aims to offer most of its routes again in the fall – and is showing signs of recovery in long-haul bookings.

Lufthansa announces that over 90 percent of planned routes for short and medium-haul flights and over 70 percent of long-haul routes will be offered again in October, according to Reuters reports.

The airline further announces that 380 aircraft will be back in service that month, which is approximately 200 more than previously.

Demand for long-haul bookings has also begun to recover, according to the company, whose shares rose in Frankfurt on Thursday after major owner Heinz Hermann Thiele went against his previous statements and decided to support a government rescue package worth 9 billion euros.

Before that, the airline's CEO had sent a letter to the staff stating that the company was on the verge of collapse.
