This is stated in a press release. The order concerns two Boeing 777-300 ER models used for long-haul flights. These will be handed over to the subsidiary Swiss Air. Furthermore, two Boeing 777F models will be delivered to Lufthansa Cargo, while the remaining twelve aircraft are Airbus A320 models for short-haul and medium-haul flights. The Airbus aircraft will end up with the Lufthansa Group to replace older models. Lufthansa also states that if possible, it will order six more A320 ceo aircraft.

The plan is to deploy these already this year as a way to compensate for delivery delays of the Airbus A320 neo aircraft, it says. Deliveries of the 16 aircraft Lufthansa is purchasing are expected to continue in stages until 2022. The airline's investment plan for 2018 remains valid, it adds.
