German Lufthansa is canceling its flights to and from Iran's capital Tehran on Thursday, citing the tense situation in the Middle East.

The halt is expected to last at least through Thursday. It comes as Israel and the United States fear retaliation after the recent airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, which Israel is believed to be behind.
