The German cabin crew union, UFO, is calling on Lufthansa employees to go on strike on Sunday. But the German airline group calls the action "illegal", writes Reuters.

The union has called on Lufthansa cabin crew to strike for five hours on Sunday, October 20. The demand will apply to those stationed at the busy airports in Frankfurt and Munich. UFO does not rule out that more strikes may be possible after the weekend.

According to the AFP news agency, the union accuses Lufthansa of waging a power struggle against small unions and that the employees' pay increases do not correspond to those at other companies. At the same time, Lufthansa has rejected talks with UFO in recent months due to doubts about its leadership.

According to Reuters, Lufthansa calls the strike ”illegal,” and a spokesperson tells the news agency that the goal is to ”maintain the full flight schedule on October 20.”.
