German airline Lufthansa will hire around 10,000 people this year, a sign of the industry's recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to a statement, the airline is now looking for 800 pilots and 2,000 flight attendants, while technicians, other ground personnel and various types of administrators make up the rest.

During the pandemic, the Lufthansa Group – which also owns several other airlines and industry players – cut around 30,000 jobs but has since hired.

Last year, the workforce increased by 13,000, according to board member Michael Niggemann.

The Lufthansa Group has over 100,000 employees in over 90 countries.
