Taxi company Lyft is working with Chinese tech company Baidu to roll out self-driving taxis in several European cities, starting with the UK and Germany in 2026. 

”By integrating Baidu’s groundbreaking autonomous driving technology with Lyft’s reach and operational expertise, we are excited to bring safer, greener, and more efficient mobility solutions to more users,” said Robin Li, Baidu CEO and co-founder, in a press release.

Lyft will use Baidu's self-driving Apollo Go vehicles, launched in 2020, which currently operate in eleven Chinese cities.
