Travel agency Ticket's latest survey shows which attractions we most want to visit, and Machu Picchu once again tops the list. The Great Wall of China and the Egyptian pyramids are also increasing in popularity and climbing the list of the most sought-after places to experience.

The world's most iconic landmarks continue to fascinate Swedes. Travel agency Ticket's latest survey shows which sights we most want to visit – and Machu Picchu in Peru tops the list again this year. At the same time, interest in the Great Wall of China and the pyramids in Egypt is increasing.

– There is a clear desire to discover places with strong culture and history. The fact that landmarks such as Machu Picchu, the Great Wall of China and the Egyptian pyramids top the list shows that Swedes want memorable experiences, says Louise Hellgren, Product Manager at Ticket.

Machu Picchu, the mysterious Inca city high in the Andes, remains a dream for many. Whether you choose to hike the classic Inca Trail or take the train from Cusco, the visit is a unique experience that continues to attract Swedes.

This year, the Great Wall of China has climbed to second place, while the Colosseum has fallen one place. The Pyramids of Egypt are increasing in popularity and are in fourth place, while the Statue of Liberty in New York is the fifth most sought-after landmark.
