The new marketplace will open at Arlanda starting in 2023 and is one of the largest investments ever in food and beverage at the airport. With the investment, Swedavia's partner SSP will launch around 20 completely new and well-known food and beverage concepts. Additional food and beverage concepts are expected to be established gradually by other players.

All of the concepts that SSP is launching are completely new to the airports and many of them will be part of the marketplace that is currently being built at Arlanda. The first part of the marketplace is expected to be completed by summer 2023. When everything is completed in 2024, the marketplace will measure approximately 11,000 square meters, where restaurants for different tastes and needs have been gathered, with everything from fine and casual dining to cafes and pure grab and go units.

– We are very pleased that SSP continues to invest in and develop its concepts at Arlanda and Landvetter. We continue to maintain our long-standing relationship and now have the opportunity to offer travelers an even larger and broader selection, but also in terms of price. At our airports, there should be something for everyone's wallets. When everything is ready, a modern and vibrant marketplace will create a whole, with an enormous range, which we can together offer travelers, says Charlotte Ljunggren, Director of Marketing and Sales, at Swedavia.

Together with a large selection of different stores, containing both Swedish and international brands, as well as spaces for advertising and events, it will be a real boost for the traveler. The marketplace is one of the largest investments ever in food and beverage at Arlanda.

Casual dining concept Eatery Garden is one of the new units. With its wide range of food, it is a concept that will appeal to many different types of traveler groups, such as families with children and travelers traveling in larger groups. Eatery Garden is also the unit after security at Arlanda that will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A food court called Sky Market has also been designed to meet the changing needs of travelers, allowing them to choose from a range of international food options, from the Mexican-inspired Taco Bar to the spicy Middle Eastern restaurant Meze Fabriken. With a strong selection of grab and go products, Sky Market offers an attractive alternative to a wide target group.

In addition, SSP will introduce Jureskogs as the fast food concept of the future for travelers at Arlanda. Jureskogs themselves want to change the view on fast food and with a focus on animals, the environment and health, they offer ”fast food but not junk food”.

At Landvetter, SSP is opening the Bastard Burgers hamburger restaurant, a premium burger concept that can be found in many locations in Sweden. SSP has also developed a new café concept for the airport called Fika, which has been designed to highlight the Swedish café culture where both the range and the interior will be linked to Scandinavian flavours and design.

– SSP's history began in Scandinavia back in 1961, which makes these new investments at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Gothenburg Landvetter Airport a particularly gratifying new chapter in our history in this important region. Over a number of decades, we have built a strong relationship with Arlanda and Landvetter. This has allowed us to truly understand Swedavia and their passengers' needs and create a food and beverage offering that will appeal both today and in the years to come, says Bjorn Olsson, CEO of SSP Sweden.
