Air traffic controllers across the UK are experiencing technical problems, reports say Sky News.

According to passengers who contacted the news site, it is the air traffic control network that is down and that airlines will experience significant delays because of this.

The airline Loganair has commented on the incident on X (formerly Twitter), describing it as a "comprehensive" failure in computer systems for the entire British air traffic control system.

The UK's leading provider of air traffic services, NATS, writes in a message:

”"We are currently experiencing technical issues and have implemented traffic flow restrictions to maintain safety. Engineers are working to resolve the issue," according to Sky News.

According to British Mirror UK airspace is closed. However, this has been denied by NATS, which says that the airspace is not closed, but that ”there are restrictions,” according to Sky News.
