Airport staff at Arlanda have stopped a man carrying over a kilogram of gold, reports Expressen.

”Customs officers found him with the gold,” says police spokesperson Anders Bryngelsson.

In recent weeks, several individuals have been arrested after being caught with expensive watches, gold, and cash at Arlanda Airport.

A kilo of gold is worth approximately 800,000 kronor at today's gold prices and the man, who was stopped on Tuesday afternoon, is suspected of aggravated money laundering.

Last year, the Swedish Customs stopped a record sum of SEK 93.4 million from leaving the country, of which SEK 87 million related to suspected money laundering.
