The American airline Southwest Airlines states that 15 percent of its employees – approximately 1,750 people – must leave this year as part of a savings package. "This decision is unprecedented in our 53-year history, and change requires us to make difficult decisions," CEO Bob Jordan said in a press release according to CNBC. The goal is net savings of $ 210 million (just over 2.2 billion kronor) this year and about $ 300 million next year.
