Plenty of news at Skara Sommarland

On May 24, Skara Sommarland opens its doors for a season full of new experiences! The newly renovated amusement park area features no less than three new rides. A new buffet restaurant and a waffle bar have taken over the park, and ten exclusive cabanas have been built by the pools. In addition, the park offers a fast-paced and exciting new show with stunts, fire and acrobatics.

– This year we have really invested heavily with more news than ever for the whole family. Regardless of whether you like fast-paced rides, tasty experiences or exciting performances, this season will offer something truly special, says Christoffer Östling, CEO of Skara Sommarland.

Three new rides and a classic Coney Island-style fairground
Through extensive theming work with everything from new colorful signs, plantings and environments, the fairground area has been transformed this year into an atmospheric and timeless amusement park in classic Coney Island style. Three new rides have taken place that offer a thrill and breathtaking views; Free Fall (a 20-meter-high drop tower where riders spin around their own tower and experience multiple falls in one ride), Houdini (a floating sofa where passengers ride in a circular motion high in the air) and Little Ferris Wheel (a newly renovated classic from 1931 for the youngest visitors and parents who want to share a nostalgic moment).

Restaurang Hyllan and Grädderiet – two new dining experiences with quality and variety
All summer country guests can also look forward to two new dining experiences; Restaurant Shelf or The creamery. Restaurant Hyllan is a new food concept where the guests' favorite, the buffet, is at the center. Here, a varied and delicious summer buffet is served with inspiration from the world, where you will find everything from pizza to pulled pork, yakiniku, merguez sausages, chicken drumsticks and breaded fish. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your meal. For all younger visitors, a tasty children's buffet is also served.

The new Grädderiet offers waffles for all tastes, both savory and sweet, where you can find everything from waffles with Skagen mousse, feta cheese or ham to sweet classics with banana, cream, meringue and jam.

Ten cabanas – relaxation with a golden edge
Ten cabanas have been built next to Restaurang Hyllan, bookable private oases for up to four people, perfect for families with children or visitors who want that little extra; shade, seating and lying areas, safes and the opportunity to order food and drinks directly from the restaurant.

Summer evenings at Sommarland get even better – with Bryggan By Night
Bryggan By Night is a summery evening experience at restaurant Bryggan, which in addition to live music, good food and a family-friendly quiz also includes unlimited Go-Cart rides – a fun and atmospheric summer evening for the whole family. No booking is required, Bryggan by Night is open for drop-ins on the following dates: July 4–5, July 11–12 and July 17 – August 2.

The spectacular show Expedition X is back – with fire, acrobatics and mysteries
Following last year’s success, the fast-paced stunt show returns in the new adventure “Expedition X – The Crown of Fire”. The audience is taken to Mokopuni, a volcanic island with a magical past where an ancient crown is said to be able to control the island’s volcano. With the help of historian Florence Fatale, our heroes must get ahead of the infamous tomb robbers Blackthorn and Bly – before disaster strikes. The show features stunts, acrobatics, dance, fire and music and is performed twice daily during the high season.

Skara Sommarland opens its doors for the season on May 24th at 10:00 AM.
