Viking Line Plc's board of directors has appointed Marcus Risberg as the company's new CEO. Risberg will take up his new role no later than 1 January 2026 and succeeds Jan Hanses, who is retiring after 11 years as CEO and 38 years in the company's service.

The board, which has carried out a thorough recruitment process with several excellent candidates, is convinced that he is the right person to lead the company into the next phase, says Jakob Johansson, Chairman of the Board of Viking Line.
Marcus Risberg most recently came from the position as CEO of Destination Gotland.

Jan Hanses will remain in an advisory role during a transitional period, and since the Annual General Meeting on April 24, 2025, is also a member of the company's board of directors.
