Marstrand's Havshotell in a new look

4 years ago, Marstrands Havshotell commissioned Wingårdhs Arkitekter to design their dream hotel, now they finally get to show the result to the world! This weekend, the last pieces of the puzzle fell into place.

”Anyone can build a fantastic hotel, but no one can build a new Marstrand”

When Marstrands havshotell opened their new hotel on November 1st, they didn't just open the doors to 144 hotel rooms, a total of 18 fantastic meeting rooms, a new Spa and Sports Club and a completely new food and beverage experience in Ottos Vardagsrum & Kök. They are creating a destination and a holistic experience that has not previously existed in the Swedish hotel market.

– It feels so good that all the pieces are in place, we are really satisfied and proud of our ”new” Marstrand. We have created a modern arena for a famous west coast gem. We want to be the natural meeting place for Marstrand. Guests should be able to start from us and experience everything Marstrand has to offer, it feels like we have really succeeded, says Daniel Svensson, CEO.

They have nature, fishing, seafood, hiking trails, cycling, island hopping and kayaking. They have culture, art, a living island and, not least, the sea right outside their door.

All of this comes together to form a fantastic whole. Inside the hotel, visitors are inspired by the Marstrand shipyard and the boats and ships that were built on the same site as the hotel today.

As part of this, Marstrand's ocean hotel has had Wingårdhs architects design 46 brand new hotel rooms where an exciting floor plan creates a unique interaction with nature and the sea.

They have also chosen to remove the usual old hotel TV in the new rooms, instead the hotel has added a speaker system, a newspaper and book library and a games section in their new living room. All this to enable maximum enjoyment, relaxation and to inspire guests to new impressions.
