May be relevant with new corona restrictions

If a new contagious corona variant spreads, new restrictions may be necessary, the Public Health Agency of Sweden writes in a press release.

If the infection were to pick up again, it could involve legislative measures but also advice against major events, a call to keep your distance and targeted efforts to protect the elderly, reports Swedish Radio Echo.

– Early in the pandemic, we used the Public Order Act to limit public gatherings. You could imagine that again. Then we also got the Pandemic Act and the Temporary Act on Infection Control Measures in Serving Places. It is difficult to say whether it would be needed again, says Sara Byfors, head of unit at the Public Health Agency, to the radio.

Covid-19 could also once again be classified as a disease dangerous to society and a public health hazard if the infection were to rise again.
