At the beginning of April, Mikael Englund took office as CEO of Höga Kusten Turism. Together with approximately 80 member companies, he will work to strengthen the Höga Kusten brand and create marketable experiences in the destination. – I really love this place and look forward to continuing to market the destination together with the companies and attract even more visitors to the Höga Kusten.
Mikael Englund has a broad background, having previously worked as a journalist at SVT and also run his own company in marketing. In recent years, he has worked with business development at Uminova Innovation in Umeå. In August last year, Mikael moved with his family to Härnösand and when the offer for the position appeared, he felt it was the right fit. – When I got the opportunity to work with something as exciting as the development of the tourism industry in the High Coast, I was very happy and thought that I could not miss this chance. I feel that I have a lot to contribute in marketing, among other things, and I also know how to have a big impact with a small budget, says Mikael.
Further strengthen the High Coast's offering
From the side of Höga Kusten Destinationsutveckling, the recruitment and Mikael's broad and solid background are viewed positively. - The collaboration between the municipal company Höga Kusten Destinationsutveckling and the business-owned Höga Kusten Turism is very important and it is only through good relationships that we really manage to strengthen the area's offer and growth potential, explains Mia Karlsson, who is the newly appointed CEO of Höga Kusten Destinationsutveckling.
