Now Swedavia is making travel easier by showing the waiting time at the security checkpoint in real time on the web, in Swedavia's app and on monitors at the security checkpoints.
Eventually, travelers will be able to see the expected wait time in the days before departure.
The initiative includes Swedavia's airports Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and Bromma Stockholm Airport. The airports are Sweden's three largest, with a combined total of nearly 36 million passengers last year.
– In the work of continuing to develop travel and create a smoother travel experience, Swedavia now offers a clear way to see how long the security check wait time is. As air traffic varies throughout the day, the new function gives travelers a better overview and a smoother start to their journey, says Mats Paulsson, Director of Security at Swedavia.
In the long term, the function will also be developed so that waiting times can be estimated already in the days before departure. At Arlanda's Terminal 5, travelers can also choose between the two existing security checkpoints based on load.
– Travel increases during school holidays, and it can then become even more important for travelers to plan their trip and then follow waiting times in real time. We hope the service contributes to transparency and increased security when waiting occurs, says Mats Paulsson.
