Ferry company Tallink reports increased revenue and transported more passengers during the third quarter.

However, the result is weighed down by, among other things, increased fuel costs.

The number of passengers during July-September increased by 1.2 percent to 2.9 million for Tallink, which serves several Swedish cities and whose shares are traded on the Tallinn Stock Exchange.

Turnover amounted to EUR 283.6 million, an increase of 0 percent compared to the previous year.

Operating profit was EUR 51.3 million, with an operating margin of 18.1 percent.

Ebitda profit was EUR 71.1 million, with an Ebitda margin of 25.1 percent.

Profit after tax was EUR 46.1 million, a decrease of 4 percent compared to the previous year.

Tallink describes that higher fuel costs and reduced charter revenue are the reason for the slightly lower profit compared to 2017.
