The Norwegian airline Norwegian had a total of 1.9 million passengers in May, which was an increase of 17 percent compared to May 2022.
”We are very pleased with the traffic figures for May,” says Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian, in a press release.
The cabin factor, that is, how full the planes are, was summed up to 84 percent on Monday, while it landed at 90 percent on routes to popular holiday destinations.
”"Many travelers jumped on the summer travel bandwagon during the holidays and long weekends in May with trips to our many big city and beach destinations in Europe. At 90 percent, those routes had the highest cabin factor," says Geir Karlsen.
Norwegian's capacity, ASK, was 2,901 million seat kilometers while actual passenger traffic, RPK, totaled 2,440 million seat kilometers.
The Norwegian airline now has a fleet of a total of 81 aircraft, of which 13 are Boeing 737 MAX 8.
”"I am pleased that we have received all new aircraft before the summer as planned and that we have welcomed many new colleagues. This means that we can welcome travelers exclusively with our own aircraft and do not need to charter external aircraft or external crew," says Geir Karlsen.
