Tourism in Sweden increased last year, measured in the number of guest nights, according to statistics from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
There were a total of 63 million guest nights, two percent more than the previous year. Foreign guests increased by four percent while Swedish guest nights rose by one percent.
In particular, long-distance guests increased. American visitors increased by 44 percent, while Chinese guest nights increased by 13.6 percent.
At the same time, Finnish and Norwegian visitors were slightly down, three and one percent fewer respectively.
