Booking figures from travel agency Ticket show that the number of booked summer trips increased by 11 percent compared to last year. Malaga was the most booked destination this summer, but London accounted for the largest increase.
Despite inflation and higher living costs, Swedes continued to travel abroad this summer – and to a greater extent than last year. New booking figures from travel agency Ticket show that the number of booked summer trips increased by a total of 11 percent compared to the summer of 2024.
– The unstable summer weather here at home may have definitely played a role. Many want to ensure sun and warmth, while others are attracted to big cities like London where experiences are the focus, says Tiyoneh Jah, PR and communications manager at travel agency Ticket.
Spain once again consolidates its position as the Swedes' big summer favorite. Malaga tops the list, followed by Alicante and Mallorca, while Barcelona takes fourth place. London stands out as the destination that has increased the most in percentage compared to last summer, with a 35 percent increase in bookings this year.
