A total of 2.4 million passengers traveled with SAS in June, an increase of 23 percent compared to the same month last year.
The passenger figure for June is the highest monthly figure since before the pandemic, according to the company.
”"We are pleased to see a continued positive trend in passenger demand," says SAS SAS +1.55% CEO Anko van der Werff in a comment.
SAS's capacity (ASK) increased by 17 percent in June to a total of 4,003 million seat kilometers. The number of passenger kilometers (RPK) also increased by 17 percent, to 3,221 million kilometers.
The cabin load factor, which is a measure of how well-filled the aircraft are, amounted to 80.5 percent in June, a marginal increase of 0.1 percentage points compared to June last year.
”Capacity issues related to air traffic control in Copenhagen continued in June, with a major impact on SAS as Copenhagen Airport is our most important hub. One in four SAS departures with disruptions in June was due to these issues,” says Anko van der Werff.
