To meet the increased demand for train travel, SJ is introducing more departures during weekends and holidays. At the same time, the train company is announcing that the number of blocked seats will be reduced.
Train travel in Sweden has gradually increased since last spring. From only running half of its scheduled departures, SJ went up to 70 percent of its regular traffic during the summer. And interest in domestic travel remains high during the autumn.
– We are noticing an increased interest in leisure travel during the weekends and have therefore decided to introduce more trains on the most popular routes starting in November, says Simon Hermansson, press communicator at SJ.
