Joakim Sundh has been appointed new CEO of MTR Mälartåg, the company writes in a press release.
The change of CEO takes place at the same time that MTR Mälartåg has been struggling for some time with the problem of cancelled departures in the Mälardalen Valley, which the company has explained as a shortage of train drivers.
”"The changes and measures we will now implement are important for the company to regain the trust of travelers. We cannot promise that they will notice anything already this week, but we will work hard to get traffic running as it should," says Sundh in the press release.
Sundh, who takes up the position with immediate effect, has been CEO of MTR Pendeltågen, which operates the commuter trains in Stockholm County, since 2016.
MTR Mälartåg's former CEO Frida Ukmar says SVT that she resigned because she was offered another job.
