Multi-million pound hit for trade and tourism when Sweden Rock is canceled

According to a calculation made by the Swedish Trade Research Institute, the festival brings in SEK 110 million each year in money spent by festival visitors, of which SEK 40 million goes to local businesses.

”"It's money that goes to campsite owners, cottage rental companies, restaurants, groceries, gasoline and shops throughout Blekinge and Kristianstad," says Stefan Olofsson, head of business in Sölvesborg Municipality.

Sölvesborg Municipality has not currently conducted any analysis of whether the municipality itself will lose any revenue from the company behind Sweden Rock when the festival is canceled.

”We have to sit down and look at that now,” says Stefan Olofsson.
