After many long trips: A national ambulance flight is now complete. Six jets have been ordered, and the bill comes to just over 700 million kronor.
The six aircraft are due to be delivered in 2021 and will operate from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Umeå. Most of the transports with the aircraft will be planned, but emergency flights will also be made, for example in the event of major accidents.
The flights are financed by the regions and county councils, who pay according to size and how much they use the plane. The cost will be over 700 million kronor, but the healthcare sector expects to save 12-20 million kronor a year by owning the ambulance aircraft.
