The assignment includes, among other things, a water park, an adventure hotel and parking lots.
Liseberg, through the development company Liseberg Skår AB, has budgeted the assignment at approximately SEK 2 billion. The project will begin immediately after the summer.
Liseberg is one of the Nordic countries' most popular travel destinations and is constantly working to develop the amusement park. Ahead of the city's 400th anniversary in 2021 and Liseberg's 100th anniversary in 2023, the amusement park is making a major investment by opening a year-round water park and an experience hotel directly adjacent to the existing amusement park. Today it was announced that NCC will be the one to carry out this exciting task.

The assignment is a partnership between NCC and Liseberg and will take place in two phases. In the initial phase, the parties will design the construction and come up with a target price. Construction will then take place in several different stages.
– Running projects in partnership is an optimal way of working in complex and large construction projects and enables a better end product. Our extensive experience in building swimming pools and bathing facilities together with our water and environmental specialists within NCC Badhus will also come in handy when we are now building one of Sweden's largest water parks, says Henrik Landelius, Sweden Manager at NCC Building.
NCC will first carry out infrastructure work, surface parking and a planned/planned parking garage. This will be followed by the construction of the themed experience hotel of just over 30,000 square meters and 450 rooms. Finally, the water park will be built, which will be 18,000 square meters in size, accommodate 2,800 guests at a time and have about ten water slides and pools.
Design work will begin in May. Once the parties agree on the next step, construction of the above-ground parking lots will begin, which is expected to be completed by the 2019 season. The hotel and water park are planned to be completed between 2021 and 2023.
