The new airline being launched in Norway will be called Flyr and the goal is to take a share of the Norwegian passenger market. The name and profile will be launched this weekend, writes Finansavisen.

Behind the venture is Erik G Braathen, former board member of Norwegian and CEO of Braathens. Since the news about the company was released in early October, there has been silence. But now a group management has been appointed with Tonje Wikstrøm Frislid from the crisis-stricken Norwegian as top manager. It is also clear that the new company will have its main base in Oslo and that it is focused on the Norwegian market that matters.

Flyr expects to have a plane in the air in the first half of 2021.

”"For customers, we should have an attractive offering and then low costs will be absolutely crucial," Erik G Braathen tells the newspaper.
