Airport VIP-Service's new premises at Arlanda are now being inaugurated, with an area of 2,000 square meters and a Nordic-inspired interior designed by Tengbom architects.

Today, Arlanda's VIP Service is moving to premises up to twice as large when it moves from Terminal 5 to Terminal 2. By 2025, SEK 15 billion will be invested in Arlanda to offer a faster and smoother passenger experience of the highest class.

– We are pleased to now be able to offer more people the opportunity to book a VIP experience to get the best start to their trip. Everything from royalty, celebrities, business leaders or other travelers who want to travel undisturbed and with a little extra luxury to brides and grooms who get married and start their honeymoon here, says Peder Grunditz, Airport Director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

The architect for the VIP rooms is Tengbom, who has created an experience with a connection to the Nordic landscape. The concept is based on a journey from the hard to the soft, where an outer shell of concrete encloses the rooms in wooden construction. The interior consists of furniture and accessories in a discreet aesthetic, the majority of which are of Nordic origin.

– With inspiration from Swedish landscapes and culture, we wanted to create a memorable experience for the visitor. Here you are met with spatial qualities that are often associated with relaxation, reflection and spiritual experiences. What is luxury if not a place to escape to where the noise and pace of everyday life are blown away?, says Mark Humphreys, responsible architect and office manager at Tengbom.
