On Wednesday, an airplane was quarantined at JFK Airport in New York after many of the passengers felt sick.

Passengers and crew on two American Airlines planes that landed at Philadelphia airport have now been detained for examination after twelve passengers felt ill with flu-like symptoms.

”"As a precautionary measure, all passengers on board two planes – a total of 250 plus crew – were detained for medical evaluation and the CDC (the US health agency) was notified," an airport spokesperson said in a written statement, Newsweek reports.

The planes had taken off from Munich in Germany and Paris in France, respectively.
Several of the sick passengers had recently been on a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, as had many of the 19 people on the plane that landed at JFK Airport on Wednesday from Dubai. Those people were also sick with flu-like symptoms.
