Between 1993 and 2006 there was a ride at Liseberg called Topspin. It was a sofa that spun around – both forwards, backwards, upside down and then it was also locked in a position so that you were hanging upside down towards the ground. Totally disgusting and something I never went on myself because I'm not that fond of having your intestines in your mouth.
Now Liseberg has announced that a similar ride will be coming to the park next summer. It is called Stormvåg and is described as a family attraction, so it will not be quite as dizzying as Topspin was and never goes up and down. The attraction is a so-called Wild Swing XL model and one of the first of its kind. There is room for 24 riders and the attraction will be located along the Mölndalsån River where the Kristallsalongen that is to disappear is located. The theme in the area is the harbor, Gothenburg and the West Coast. To ride Stormvåg you must be at least 105 centimeters tall and then be accompanied by an adult. How tall you have to be to ride alone has not yet been determined.
