New bid reputation at Norwegian

AG is preparing a bid for Norwegian of 330 Norwegian kroner per share for the Norwegian low-cost airline.

This is reported by the Spanish newspaper Expansion without any source reference and this information is referenced by, among others, Bloomberg News.

Norwegian NAS -7,43% closed at just over 250 Norwegian kroner on the Oslo Stock Exchange on Friday. The alleged offer would therefore correspond to a premium of 32 percent.

On Friday, IAG said it would not make a hostile bid for Norwegian. The Norwegian company has previously rejected two proposals from the British-Spanish airline ownership group.

”"If we do anything at all, we are responsible and would make the right statements, but I don't expect to have to do anything in the coming weeks or months," IAG CEO Willie Walsh told Reuters on Friday in connection with an aviation conference.

The Spanish airline Iberia is part of IAG and the group has one of its two headquarters in Madrid.

IAG already owns 4.6 percent of Norwegian.
