The board of the Swedish Taxi Association has appointed Bawer Coskun as acting Director of the Association from May 2021. Bawer replaces Claudio Skubla, who has held the position since 2015. 

Bawer has a background as a board member and vice chairman of Taxi Stockholm, entrepreneur; haulage owner, among other things, and political press secretary in the Transport Committee, Riksdag. He has also been a board member of the Swedish Taxi Association for just over eight years, a position he is now leaving. 

The board looks forward to a fresh start for the Association with a new focus and energy when the taxi industry again has the opportunity to expand after the pandemic. 

• The association needs to regain strength after a very difficult year with the pandemic, says Chris Heister, Chairman of the Swedish Taxi Association. This means that the association needs to review its focus on important future issues, work in closer collaboration with its members and, not least, attract new ones. I am pleased that Bawer Coskun has agreed to immediately take up the position of acting CEO to lead the work forward, says Chris Heister. 
• Claudio Skubla has made great and significant contributions to the taxi industry during his years as the association's director, says Chris Heister. Not least now during the pandemic, the association has managed to influence the government, parliament and authorities to take several significant measures that have made the support programs better able to respond to the vulnerable situation and special needs of taxi companies. The association, with Claudio at the helm, pushed the issue of accounting centers to combat fraud and irregularities and contribute to competition on equal terms.
