Anyone who wants to start a hotel, Bed & Breakfast or conference facility must apply for many permits from the municipality and various authorities.
Now, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Development, together with SKL and the Swedish Companies Registration Office, has developed a digital checklist on verksamt.se that collects all permits in one place.
The checklist has been developed within the Serverat program, which through digitalization simplifies the handling of permits for both entrepreneurs and administrators at municipalities and authorities. Checklists have already been developed for restaurants and beekeeping, and more industries are in the works.
"The checklist for hotels, together with the checklist for restaurants, provides a complete picture of all permits that companies in that industry need. Later this year, we will simplify permit management for another large group of entrepreneurs when we launch a checklist for events," says Jenny Nordlöf, project manager at the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
The checklist is available at verksamt.se, which collects information for companies from authorities. It can be used when starting a hotel, Bed & Breakfast, guesthouse, hostel, conference facility, holiday village or other accommodation business. The checklist also applies to camping with cabins that have water and sewage.
By answering a few questions about their business, the prospective entrepreneur will know which permits must be applied for and what information must be provided to the municipality and authorities.
