The board of Destination Östersund has appointed Martin Sahlberg as the new destination manager and Katarina Magnusson will take over as the new chairwoman. 

– Martin has a solid background in the hospitality industry and a strong network. As a former chairman, he is well-versed in our opportunities and challenges as a destination. We have had an ongoing recruitment process without landing and when Martin's work situation changed, the choice of a new destination manager was a natural fit. He can step in immediately and continue on the path set with the development of the company and Östersund, says Magnus Trense, member of the board of Destination Östersund.

 – As the new chairman, I look forward to continuing my commitment to the destination company together with the employees, the board, the municipality and the business community. Collaboration between all of us is crucial so that we can continue to contribute to the development of the destination, says Katarina Magnusson, new chairman of the board of Destination Östersund.

– It is an honor to be offered the role of destination manager for our fantastic city. I have worked in the tourism industry for a long time and am convinced that I have enough experience to take Destination Östersund forward towards new goals together with the company's board and employees. Östersund is a fantastic place that has immense potential, says Martin Sahlberg. He concludes: – Now I will first meet our partners to hear how they see our city and its opportunities.

Martin Sahlberg has previously served as chairman of Destination Östersund, operated Storsjöteatern/OSD, worked at Kall Autolodge and as CEO of Ekerum Golf and Resorts. Martin will take up his new position on May 2.

At the annual general meeting/general meeting of shareholders for Destination Östersund on April 26, a new board was also appointed. Katarina Magnusson will take over as chairwoman of Destination Östersund. Anna Rex, Johan Fryksborn, Annette Lindow and Magnus Trense were elected as regular members. Björn Hemmingsson, Johnny Jonsson and Erik Odén were appointed as deputies.
