On January 3, VR will begin operating high-speed trains from Karlstad and Kristinehamn to Stockholm, the company said in a press release.

The train departs every other Saturday starting on January 3. During April and May, there will be a break on the route, but during the summer, traffic will be expanded to daily departures.

– It feels really fun to come to new cities – it's not often that a train company gets the opportunity to expand in this way, says Erik Wennerholm, acting CEO of VR Snabbtåg, in the press release.

The travel time to Stockholm is 2 hours and 42 minutes from Karlstad and 2 hours and 21 minutes from Kristinehamn.
