New findings may link plane crashes

New findings from the plane wreckage after Sunday's accident in Ethiopia suggest that there are similarities between that accident and the plane crash in Indonesia last fall, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said.

On Wednesday, the United States joined the group of countries that temporarily ban traffic with the accident model Boeing 737 Max 8.

”"The agency made the decision as a result of the data collection process and new evidence collected at the accident scene that was analyzed today," the FAA said, shortly after US President Donald Trump announced that the plane would be grounded.

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing also recommends that all flights with the 737 Max model that was involved in the accident be temporarily stopped.
