New heat record for Spain in June

46 degrees was measured in Huelva in southwestern Spain on Saturday.

It is the highest June temperature since 1965, according to RTVE. At that time, 45.2 degrees were measured in Seville.

Spain is currently experiencing a heat wave and warnings are being issued for extremely high temperatures.

Over 40 degrees have been measured at more than 100 of the country's weather stations, according to Spain's meteorological institute Aemet.
