The airline SAS recorded a new record month in July, with over 2.8 million passengers traveling with the company. However, the cabin factor and the number of passenger kilometers fell.

The number of passengers thus increased by 0.1 percent on an annual basis and, according to SAS, this represents a new record level for the month of July.

”"Since last year, we have made major improvements to ensure stable operational operations, which has resulted in significantly improved punctuality and regularity," CEO Rickard Gustafson says in a comment.

Regularity increased by 1.8 percentage points to 99.6 percent, while punctuality improved by 4.4 percentage points to 72.4 percent.

The cabin factor decreased by 2.3 percent in July, while the number of passenger kilometers, RPK, decreased by 0.5 percent.

Capacity in scheduled traffic increased by 2.3 percent on an annual basis.

The company's currency-adjusted passenger yield increased by 1.5 percent. However, revenue per passenger kilometer, PASK, decreased by 1.2 percent adjusted for currency effects.

Compared to July last year, demand for domestic routes and European routes has been high, while demand for intercontinental traffic has been slightly lower, according to SAS.
