Low-cost airline Ryanair breaks passenger numbers record for second month in a row.
A total of 17.4 million passengers were flown in June, which was 9 percent higher than the comparison month in 2022. It is also higher than the previous record of 17 million set in May this year, reports Reuters news agency.
The company further states that flights in June were 95 percent occupied.
In the same month, more than 900 flights were canceled, affecting around 160,000 customers, mainly due to air traffic control strikes.
Ryanair, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, rose 0.8 percent in after-hours trading. As you know, US stock markets are closed today for the July 4th holiday.
