Foreign citizens must now show a negative Covid test to enter the country. Further regulations to effectively slow the spread of the infection come into effect today.
The Public Health Agency's new regulations come into effect on December 28 and mean that foreign citizens over the age of twelve who are not residents of Sweden must be able to show a negative Covid test to be granted entry into the country.
The test must be an antigen test or PCR/NAAT test and must not be more than 48 hours old. The certificate must contain information about when the test was performed, the name and date of birth of the person tested, the test result, the type of test and who performed the test. It can be written in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, English or French.
To make it easier for commuters and cross-border students within the EU/EEA who can show that they cross the border repeatedly (at least once a week) to work or study in Sweden or another country, it is sufficient for the traveler to show a vaccination certificate or a certificate of negative test results from testing for ongoing COVID-19 infection where the testing has been carried out within one week before arrival.
For travel within Sweden, anyone who organizes public transport by bus or train on routes over 150 kilometers must ensure, as far as possible, that each passenger has access to a seat or sleeping space.
Since December 23, the recommendation is that the public should avoid crowded environments and that everyone who can should work from home.
In serving establishments such as pubs and restaurants, only seated parties are allowed and distance requirements are introduced.
Public gatherings and public events with more than 20 participants may only have seated audiences. This applies to theaters and concerts, for example, but also to religious services. This applies regardless of vaccination certificate.
For organizers who do not require proof of vaccination, social distancing is required between groups and groups must not exceed eight people. The total number of participants must not exceed 500 people.
For events larger than 500 participants indoors, proof of vaccination is required, as well as a maximum of eight people per group and a distance of one meter between groups.
At fairs, trade fairs and places for cultural and leisure activities, each person must have a space of ten square meters.
Indoor cups and camps that do not involve professional practice are advised against. Matches, training, exercises, performances and competitions can continue.
In adult education, it is recommended that crowds and large gatherings be avoided. On-site teaching remains the main rule, but distance learning can be used to spread out the teaching spaces.
