Border guards at London's major Heathrow airport are warning of a strike at the end of the month, reports say. Sky News.

Between May 31 and June 2, a few hundred members of the PCS union are expected to stop their work and leave passport control.

The strike is followed by an overtime blockade and other work-restricting measures until June 25.

The dispute concerns plans for new schedules, which according to PCS "will force 250 members out of their jobs in passport control.".

Border guards also went on strike at the turn of the last month, causing long queues and major delays at the airport, one of the world's largest.

PCS chairwoman Fran Heathcote says she is more than happy to discuss a solution to the conflict, but that they have so far been met with silence from the Home Office.

”Until we receive a favorable proposal with schedule changes, the battle will continue,” she says.
