The city of New York will require vaccination certificates indoors at restaurants, gyms, movie theaters, and more after August 16.
Mayor Bill de Blasio has moved aggressively to get more New Yorkers vaccinated to limit the effects of a third wave of coronavirus cases.
He is now requiring city workers to get vaccinated or face weekly testing. He has also offered incentives of $100 for those who get vaccinated.
Approximately 66 percent of the adult population in New York is fully vaccinated.
