For the first time in a decade, Hong Kong is canceling its New Year's Eve fireworks display due to the serious protests that have been going on in the city since last summer.
The grand fireworks display that annually draws thousands of Hong Kong residents will now be replaced by a multimedia light show. Projections will illuminate the city's tallest skyscrapers at midnight, reports TT.
