No solution in sight – air strike looks set to break out

The flight strike among Swedish Ryanair pilots looks set to break out as planned.

The parties have not met for any further negotiations on Thursday afternoon.

”"That's right, we don't have any dialogue with Ryanair right now. The latest from them is that they refuse to meet with our representatives," says Martin Lindgren, chairman of the Swedish Pilots' Association, to TT.

The strike will begin on the night between Thursday and Friday at midnight and will last for 24 hours. The Swedish pilots' strike will be the company's fifth one-day strike in Europe in a short period of time.

The background to the conflict is that the pilot union wants to sign a collective agreement with the Irish low-cost airline, something that Ryanair refuses.
