The tourist season on Gotska sandön is cancelled, the County Administrative Board of Gotland announces. The decision has been made in consultation with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the shipping company and the booking.

– It is of course sad to have to cancel, but under the current circumstances we see no other option, says Petter Rimfors, site manager at Gotska sandön, in a press release.

All booked trips will be offered a refund. Bookings for 2021 are expected to open in September this year.
