An IT outage at public transport company Nobina affected bus services throughout the Nordic region on Monday morning. The problem has now been fixed.

”"We have got the system working, but it is still a little slower than usual," says Niklas Torslund at Nobina's press office to TT.

The problem was discovered at 4 a.m. on Monday night and led to Nobina having to inform drivers about driving schedules manually.

Several counties in Sweden reported disruptions to public transport, including Halland where bus services were cancelled throughout the county. Problems also arose in Norway and Finland where Yle, among others, reported delays and cancellations.

Skånetrafiken states that they still lack technical communication with several buses in the county.

”"There may be a delay. As long as things are not running as usual, we have the disruption notice on our website," says Theresia Swanholm, press officer at Skånetrafiken.

According to Nobina, There may be delays during the day.

”It is too early to say that the system is stable, and that we have returned to a normal Monday,” says Niklas Torslund.

It is also too early to determine a cause behind the failure that occurred in two data centers and led to the internet being knocked out.

”"At the moment there is nothing to indicate a cyber attack," says Niklas Torslund.

”"We are working to sort it out. The next step is to make sure it doesn't happen again. At this point, we haven't found anything to indicate that anything happened from the outside."”
