Norrköping Airport has been without regular air traffic since February last year. Since then, an investigation has been conducted and politicians have had their say on what they want the airport's future to look like. On Thursday, a document will be presented for a possible tender for the airport.

 – Several companies have contacted us and one has expressed interest in actively getting involved in the airport. Their interest was interesting enough for us to continue the talks.

This was stated by the chairman of the municipal board, Lars Stjernkvist (S), back in March of this year, regarding the interest from private companies to take over the airport. Now another half a year has passed and on Thursday, a basis for a procurement will be presented by the municipality's company, Rådhus AB.

– We have not yet taken a position on what will be presented on Thursday, that will be a later issue for, among others, the municipal board. But I am satisfied with the work that has been done up to now and I am hopeful that we have found a technical design that makes a procurement by a private actor possible, says Lars Stjernkvist.

No hush hush

So far, there has been a lot of hush hush surrounding the airport and few public political statements about what they want with the airport in the future.

– I don't know if it's hush hush. Selling an airport is very technically complicated.
