The Norwegian government plans to extend state loan guarantees for airlines to three years, according to information from the country's transport and economic affairs ministries. The loan guarantees are currently valid for two years.

Crisis-stricken Norwegian Air, which has warned that it is about to run out of cash in early 2021 and has also filed for bankruptcy protection for two Irish subsidiaries, has previously received loan guarantees worth three billion Norwegian kroner during the corona crisis.

This ceiling for support to Norwegian has not changed with the decision to extend loan guarantees that has now been made.
