Norwegian Air Shuttle carried 1.1 million passengers in January, a 78 percent increase compared to the same month last year, according to a press release.

The cabin factor, which is a measure of how well-filled the planes were, amounted to 78 percent.

Capacity (ASK) amounted to 1,870 million seat kilometers while actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 1,453 million seat kilometers.

A New Year's campaign resulted in over one million tickets sold, according to the company, which is said to be a satisfactory start to the year.

”"We also notice that the positive booking trend continues after the sale. Many people are planning trips for the upcoming school holidays and for the long weekends in May," says Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen in a comment.
